Potency of Yeasts Isolated from Shallot Rhizosphere to Control Basal Rot (Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cepae) Disease on Shallot

One of the major diseases shallots is basal rot disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cepae (FOC). Biocontrol agents can be used as an environmentally friendly control method. Some yeasts isolated from rhizosphere may have potencies to soilborne plant pathogen such FOC. This study was objected obtain yeast isolates that rot. The first step isolation and were then tested for their in suppressing FOC vitro decreasing on shallot plants. There ten obtained shallot, which seven non pathogenic plant. These further controlling disease. results showed those able inhibit colony growth 16,11% - 38,33% dual culture test, 21,11% 38,89% production volatile compound test. also suppressed incidences 8,30% 24,98%. Isolates Cm2 Cm3 highest suppression (24,98%).
